Demand for the new HTC EVO 4G is so high that HTC is not enough - the website of Sprint were exhausted, and very few units remain in the company stores.

Sprint (NYSE:S) had gone on record to announce the stunning success that the HTC Evo 4G had in terms of sales. In fact, sales were so good, Sprint proclaimed that the Android phone was its best seller on opening day, surpassing the numbers posted by the Samsung Instinct and the Palm Pre.

Today, however, Sprint is saying its original report was in error.Sprint has acknowledged misstating the sales numbers it reported for the HTC EVO 4G devices. Originally, the carrier reported that the total number of HTC EVO 4G devices sold on its June 4 launch day was "three times the number of Samsung Instinct and Palm Pre devices sold over their first three days on the market combined."
