Sprint will sell HTC EVO 4G Smartphones, give up the Nexus One

Sprint said it no longer plans to support Google's Nexus One phone, making it increasingly uncertain that Google can achieve its vision for phone sales in the U.S.

Since that day, Sprint has confirmed the Nexus One, Verizon has dropped the Nexus One, and I, yet again, have written a post containing the assurance of a Sprint customer support agent, saying that Sprint is still planning to support the device (for whatever that's worth).

Sprint users hoping to get their hands on the Google Nexus One should give up now, the consolation prize in this case is HTC EVO 4G. Sprint has confirmed that it won’t support the Google phone, and the search gaint has removed references to it from the Nexus One web site.

According to Sprint, “upcoming availability of the award-winning Evo 4G” is a “more robust, full-featured device”, so guys no Nexus One for you.
